An experimental solar sphere ship that could be launched into orbit and return to Earth.
A prototype of the device has been tested on the Space X Dragon capsule and the company is working on a larger version.
A company in Canada is also working on the project, but has yet to launch the prototype.
The company’s CEO, Jeff Smith, told Reuters that the initial stage of development of the sphere has been completed.
The prototype was built on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
The first stage, known as the first stage booster, is the main engine that powers the Dragon capsule.
The second stage, or the second stage boosters, are used to launch spacecraft into orbit.
The Dragon capsule is powered by the Falcon 9 first stage engine.
NASA says the Dragon can carry up to 100 kilograms of cargo and has been used for launches of cargo to the International Space Station, the International Carrier Aircraft Carrier, and commercial cargo.
